Community
The Department of Art may be a part of UNLV, but we serve more than just the university. From community events to public gallery showings, the department provides a bridge between the diverse visual landscape and the contemporary art scene. Through the Friends of Art program, community members can support the outreach programs of the university while also giving back to UNLV.
Campus Galleries
No matter where you are on campus, art is only a few steps away. The Department of Art hosts galleries in the Ham Fine Arts Building, Grant Hall, Tam Alumni Center, and the Barrick Museum of Natural History. Visiting Artist Series
Artists from across the spectrum of the contemporary world bring their perspective to UNLV in the Visiting Artist lecture series, held every autumn. Attendance is open to the public and lecture schedules will be posted ahead of the fall semester. Students in the Bachelor of Fine Arts or Masters of Fine Arts programs are also given the opportunity to interact with artists in a studio environment, though the context of the Seminar in Visual Arts course.
