BFA Scary Art Auction

Oct 1

The UNLV BFA Program presents the BFA Scary Art Auction and gallery exhibition, featuring works with frightening themes from current members of the BFA and MFA programs, as well as Department of Art faculty. The show runs from October 1st through the 16th in Grant Hall Gallery.

Artwork from contemporary artists Mark Burns, Catherine Angel, Mary Warner, and Stephen Hendee will be auctioned off October 10th at opening prices as low as $5. Other emerging artists such as Brent Sommerhauser, Erin Stellmon, Jay Bailey, Aaron Sheppard, Brian Porray, Wendy Kveck, and Ayako Ono have also donated work for auction.

All proceeds from this event will benefit the BFA class of 2008-2009 by funding future museum and gallery visits in major art metropolitans such as Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The auction itself will be held on October 10th from 6 to 9pm and is open to the public. Food and beverage will be provided by the BFAs and class advisor Mark Burns. Bidding closes promptly at 8pm, after which winners will be announced. Winners will be able to pick up their pieces after the end of the show on the 16th.
